The 2nd edition of Star Film Fest ended on 5th of September and was visited by more than 500 film lovers in those three days. The expectations were high after the opening ceremony held in the magnificent fortress of Stari grad (Old Town), but the second and the third day held in the intimate atmosphere of Kazalište 21 met those expectations and even exceeded them by giving the visitors a real festival experience.
Along with many films from all over the world, the Festival also included other activities, such as photography and film workshops, as well as the lecture by Luka Rukavina “From theory to practice” and the presentations of other film festivals in Croatia. Finally, visitors could also see an exhibition by Haris Čalkić “Fina prašina” (“Fine dust”).
The jury, Darko Drinovac, Danijel Kušan, Nera Stipičević and Davor Žmegač, selected one film from each category to be awarded. The best documentary film award went to “Ljubi bližnjega svoga” by Goran Ribarić, while “Uprising Pact” by Ale Paschoalini won the best experimental film award. “The Game” by Pedro Coutinho got the award for the best feature film, while the award for the best film of the Festival went to “Linda, a Horrible Story” by Bruno Gularte. The audience also selected its favourite one, it was a film “Govorna pošta” by Leo Vitasović.
