SFilmFest members meet with President Kolinda Grabar Kitarović

Nineteenth relocation of the office of President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović started, and this time Zagreb Pantovčak was replaced with Sisak

The three-day stay in Sisak-Moslavina County started on Wednesday, with the raising of the presidential flag in front of the Sisak-Moslavina County building and shortly addressing the people. Immediately afterwards she was awaited with a carefully planned protocol and held working meetings with representatives of the County, national minorities, Croatian Veterans’ Association, Sisak bishop Vladko Košić, and representatives of the Petroleum Trade Union, ie Sisak Refinery.

The members and representatives of the Cinema Club Sisak, who are also the organizers of the Star Film Festival, Leonard Eid, Lucija Madjanović, Teo Vukšan and Matija Holjevac, received the opportunity to be welcomed at the reception of President Grabar-Kitarović and to bring her closer to their work, ambitions and plans for the future. Star Film Fest Fest is a festival that offers its visitors an unforgettable experience of watching movies under the stars in the unique ambience and atmosphere provided by the Sisak Fortress, the Old Town and the city of Sisak. The festival gathers young movie makers and filmmakers from all over Croatia and the world, and gives young, talented artists the chance to show their films to the public. Apart from screening films, the festival offers its visitors and participants a whole range of interesting activities such as film and photo workshops, photo and art exhibitions, lectures and concerts. Star Film Fest has served as a good jump off and inspiration for many young authors in their further work, and we will continue to fulfill that role.

For the third consecutive year, the president has been admitted to the sponsorship of the Star Film Festival, and as she says, she would like to personally come to the festival and support the work of these young film lovers. She was amazed with the valuable and hard work and effort of the volunteers, who for the sixth year in a row giving the best themselves for Sisak’s cultural scene to be enriched with a program like this. In addition to the festival, she was introduced to the work of the Cinema Club Sisak, which commends many members who work hard on their films and receive awards and prizes at festivals all over Croatia. The proof for all of this hard work is the City of Sisak Volunteer Prize, where Lucija Madjanović was declared the third best volunteer coordinator and Matija Vlahović was the third best volunteer of the city of Sisak. The result is work and numerous activities, not only through CCS or SFF, but also through other projects throughout the year.
The members of the Cinema Club Sisak are currently working on a dozen new projects, and as announced, the 57th Croatian Children’s Film Festival will be the hosted in Sisak, after 45 years of maintenance.
