Star Film Fest 2023.
Star Film Fest, an international short film festival, celebrated his 10 year anniversary in Sisak. On the eve of the festival, Sisak took on the guise of a short film and remembered all 10 years of SFF and everyone who participated in making this stellar story complete a full decade of continuous upkeep and enjoyment of the film under the starry skies of Sisak.
When?
The 10th edition of Star Film Fest took place from Thursday 31st of august, until Saturday 20nd of september 2023.
Where?
Star Film Fest, an international movie festival, is already ten years taking place in the town of Sisak, the 10th anniversary took place on the promenade of Vladimir Nazor, a green oasis in the centre of the town with additional locations such as Museum of Sisak and The centre of creative industry Sisak.
Who?
The festival is being organized by Cinema club Sisak, which for years is developing film and film culture on the territory of Sisak and Sisak-moslavina county and on the 10th edition 33 organizers and 22 volunteers took part from the whole Croatia.
What?
Out of a total of 978 short films submitted from all over the world, 38 of them were shown at the tenth Star Film Fest as part of the competition program in the categories of documentary, feature, animated and experimental film. In addition to the films, the program also included a video production workshop for social networks, a panel discussion on AI in the world of film, two screenings of out-of-competition films – the documentary Deserters by actor and director Damir Markovina and the Diary of Pauline P. by Neven Hitrec. We spent the evening program with relaxation and concerts by Sisak bands L.H.D. and Pristojni Jeleni, a performance by the famous hip-hop artist Kandžija and a set by the king of the party, DJ Kneža.

When the draft law on the amnesty of sexual abuse through marriage was on government’s agenda in Turkey 2016 and 2020, there was a great reaction among women. Women who were and will be married to [their] perpetrators did not hesitate to make their voices heard and resisted. These law drafts were abandoned after a strong public outcry.
I You He/She We You They, tells the story of a young girl who is forced to marry the perpetrator of rape struggles between power, law, society and family. Salvation is in solidarity…
