With the Star Film Fest celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Star Gardens celebrates 5 years of watching movies in the hidden gardens of the city of Sisak.

Given that it is obvious that 2023 is a celebratory year for film culture in the city of Sisak, Star Gardens is getting a special celebratory edition this year with the patronage of the city of Sisak and the Croatian Audiovisual Center.

This summer tradition continues this year in an old, but also in a new location. The first edition of this year’s Star Gardens will be held on Saturday, August 19 for the first time at the Željezara lake (Slovenski trg 109) starting at 9:00 p.m. We are watching short films awarded at last year’s edition of Star Film Fest – winner of the award for the best animated student film Nowhere (dir. Asaki Nishino), winner of the award for the best regional film – Divljač (dir. Bojana Babić), best documentary film 9th SFF – Killer dog (dir. Alexander Lemus) and winner of the award for the best editing – Krotki (dir. Jovan Dimoski), and after the screenings, along with socializing and relaxing, DJ BROOX from Rijeka will provide a good atmosphere.

For this year’s prelude and warm-up for the big celebration of ten years of Star Film Fest, at the second edition of Star Gardens, we return to the magical yard of the Margić family (Ulica kralja Tomislava 9), where from 9:00 p.m. the second block of films that won awards at last year’s edition are shown, and these are – winner of the selector award Ant Hotel (dirz Yu-Hsuan Teng), winner of the award for the best feature film Body Parts (dir. Svetislav Dragomirović), Sam’ se sekiramo (dir. Nikola Kašić) – winner of the award for the best experimental film and winner of the Stardust award and the film Balakor (dir. Daria Stilin) which won the audience award.

Star Gardens is a project of Kino Klub Sisak, which began as the Star Cinema in Fluid, and in 2018 was renamed Star Gardens, better known to the citizens of Sisak as the tradition of enjoying film art in Sisak’s hidden gardens under the starry sky.
