Star Film Fest 2021

For years the Star Film Fest served as a springboard to young filmmakers, a gathering place for film lovers as well as a haven of film culture in Sisak-moslavina county. This international film festival is primarily focused on young filmmakers which have a goal of mobilizing fresh, productive, talented artists, and to offer them the opportunity to showcase their ideas to wider audiences. The goal is to enable affirmation to students of the Academy of dramatic arts and Academy of fine arts, but also any young person that wants to pursue a film career outside academic frames.

When?

8th Star Film Fest was held under starry Sisak sky from 27th to 29th of August 2021.

Where?

For eight years in a row, Star Film Fest is an international film festival in the heart of Sisak-moslavina county, so its eight edition took place at Sisak locations such as Kazalište 21 (Theater 21), and Sisak Creative industry center.

Who?

Out of 526 applications all around the world, domestic and international, for eight year in a row we can proudly say that Star Film Fest has become a part of the film scene and support to all young filmmakers and those that are yet to become. Festival is organized by Kino Klub Sisak which has been developing film and film culture for years in the area of Sisak and Sisak-moslavina county.

What?

With 39 films which entered the competition part of the program, eight edition of the Star Film Fest were enriched with various workshops such as film dramaturgy and writing of the film review. Besides that, we also had a discussion at a media literacy roundtable .Apart from the screening of the films, the film evenings were illuminated by an exhibition of film posters of the Sisak City Museum, and also an exhibition of GIF’s from Karlovac platform F12 along with the Liquid light show of the Exotera collective. For the ears of the visitors, Star Film Fest was opened by film music which was performed by Lordan Badanjak, after that we had an opportunity to listen to great domestic bands such as; band Lika Kolorado, and sweet sounds of band Gungula.
