MASTERCLASS LECTURE
Among the numerous discursive programs of this year’s 12th Star Film Festival, on the second day of the festival, Friday, August 22nd, at Theatre 21 starting at 3:00 PM, there will be a masterclass lecture by renowned Croatian theatre, television, and film actor Goran Grgić.

PANEL DISCUSSION
Movement in film is merely an illusion — a sequence of images per second that points to its foundation in deception. Movement is the theme of this year’s Star Film Festival, but also an incentive for conversation with young and prolific workers in film and culture – film critic Bartol Babić Vukmir, actress Petra Kurtela, illustrator and animator Ana Despot, and documentary filmmaker Lucija Brkić. On the final day of the 12th Star Film Festival, Saturday, August 23rd, at Theatre 21 starting at 10:00 AM, there will be a panel discussion moderated by film critic and one of the selectors of the Star Film Festival competition program, Iva Rosandić.
The panel participants will present their work in different areas of film, share their experiences, and explore the varying meanings of movement in animation or acting, as well as whether documentary film is, in fact, an illusion. Movement will serve as a starting point for discussion about the possibilities for education and training in Croatia and abroad, as well as existing scholarships and grants. The guests will share their artistic journeys and ways for anyone interested to get actively involved.

LET’S TALK ABOUT FILM
On the same day, Saturday, August 23rd, at 3:00 PM at Theatre 21, the audience will have the opportunity to meet and chat with the young filmmakers from the competition program in the Small Film Talks session, moderated by Lucija Češkić.
