The “Grand Jury” of the festival, consisting of actor Goran Grgić, director Goran Dević, director and producer Bobby Boško Grubić, cinematographer Davor Bjelanović and screenwriter and writer Bojana Babić, will award a total of 11 awards, and this year’s edition is also specific to the self-known “small jury” Stardusters, made up of high school students from Sisak and Petrinja, who will award the Award for the best student film.
In addition to the professionals of the film industry that we gather every year in the expert jury of our Festival, this year we also decided to introduce a small jury made up of high school students from Sisak and Petrinja. These are the students who adore films, series and other wonders of the film industry, they already have their favorite directors, actors, series and films, and now they will get to know the festival’s film atmosphere and award one of the awards for a film from the competition program.
Stardust finely depicts our effort to expand and promote the film industry to young people whom we want to motivate to choose a career path in a similar direction. We came up with the idea of a small jury during a visit to Petrinja High School. Professor Ljiljana Lekanić Kljaić hosted our selector Martina Mladenović as part of her Media Culture classes, who spoke about our festival so that some students’ eyes lit up like stars. The stardust settled and an idea was born!
Who knows who else is hiding in the school desks of our cities – what future great screenwriters, costume designers, editors, actors, directors, producers…only the sky is the limit. And with ours, as they called themselves – “Stardusters” there is no eclipse – only a still clear starry sky for great movies! We hope that this way we will further activate and motivate young people for film culture and art, and maybe when they enroll in college, they will decide on a film career from which they can build their stellar future!
Starduster stardust will be sprinkled everywhere from August 31st to September 2nd!
