Following the success of this year’s first edition, Star Gardens continues to build excitement for the upcoming Star Film Fest. The second Star Gardens event will take place on Thursday, August 14, at 9:00 PM in Mali Park behind the Health Centre in Sisak, bringing another evening of outstanding short films under the open sky.
In a relaxed summer atmosphere, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of award-winning films screened at last year’s edition of Star Film Fest. The programme brings together fiction, documentary, animated, and experimental films from Croatia and abroad, offering a diverse overview of contemporary filmmaking and distinctive artistic voices.
Among the films to be screened is “Silenzio Stampa” by Jakov Benčić, winner of the Golden Star Award for Best Student Film, selected by the Young Jury. The programme also includes the Bulgarian animated film “Balconada” by Iva Tokmachieva, recipient of the Animated Star Award for Best Animated Film, as well as the Slovenian fiction film “Rats with Flowery Hats” directed by Hannah Koselj Marušić, winner of the Special Star Award presented by the festival selectors.
Audiences will also have the chance to watch the experimental film “Doctor Comes in on Thursday” by Jovana Anđelković, winner of the Supernova Star Award for its innovative approach to cinematic expression and the concept of movement.
In addition to these award-winning titles, the programme features the Croatian documentary “Žive slike” by Tibor Đurđev, the Montenegrin fiction film “68 Seconds” by Itana Vukosavljević, the Spanish documentary “Ama” by Claudi Chau, and the Brazilian experimental film “Layers” by Vitorio Scaevola.
Organised by Kino Klub Sisak, Star Gardens once again marks the beginning of Star Film Fest, giving audiences the opportunity to enjoy high-quality short films in a unique setting while discovering part of the programme that previews another edition of the festival dedicated to emerging filmmakers and short-form cinema.
Admission is free.
