The third and final day of the 13th Star Film Fest, on Saturday, 22 August, brings a programme for audiences of all generations. Visitors to Theatre 21 can look forward to an inclusive children’s screening of Glavonja, a creative workshop, Small Film Talks with this year’s filmmakers, and the traditional film quiz, while the evening will conclude with the festival awards ceremony and a music programme.
The final day of the festival begins at 10:30 AM with a screening of Glavonja, organised in collaboration with the Film svima project and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. The screening is intended for children, as well as anyone who wants to enjoy this warm and exciting film story. The screening has been inclusively adapted and is accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, as well as blind and visually impaired viewers.
The film follows Milan, an autistic boy for whom the world is often a confusing and frightening place, while his younger sister Alisa believes that he is responsible for all her problems. When they unexpectedly find themselves in the middle of an unusual detective adventure, both their relationship and their lives begin to change.
The screening will be followed by a workshop for children and adults, offering participants an opportunity for creative interaction and to further explore the themes introduced by the film.
At 11:45 AM, the programme continues with the “Cloud Nine & Wine!” workshop, organised by the Tourist Board of Sisak-Moslavina County. The workshop is intended for children and adults and offers an opportunity for creative socialising and discovering local heritage through a relaxed and interactive activity.
The film programme continues in the afternoon. At 2:30 PM, the first of the two final competition screenings is scheduled, followed by another block of competition films at 4:00 PM. Audiences will have the opportunity to discover more short films by emerging filmmakers from Croatia and around the world, exploring different cinematic approaches, styles and perspectives represented in this year’s selection.
The programme continues with Small Film Talks, a gathering with this year’s filmmakers. Audiences will have the opportunity to meet the creators whose films are part of this year’s selection, hear more about their beginnings in filmmaking, their inspirations and creative processes, and learn first-hand about their journeys from the initial idea to the finished film.
The programme also features the traditional film quiz, organised in collaboration with Kvizopija and sponsored by AutoZubak. It is an opportunity for film lovers to test their knowledge, have fun and compete with fellow cinephiles in a true festival atmosphere.
The highlight of the final festival evening will be the awards ceremony, beginning at 8:30 PM. After this year’s winners are announced, the festival will conclude its 13th edition with music by DJ Niki Peducci.
Three days of film, socialising, new ideas and encounters will come to an end in true festival spirit.
Thank you for being part of the 13th Star Film Fest – see you again with new film stories!
