Star Film Fest this year brings a combination of gaming and the film industry! On Friday, September 2 at 9 a.m. in the premises of the Sisak Creative Industry Center (Ulica Stjepana i Antuna Radića 20) there will be a program for the youngest with screenings of the cult animated series Professor Baltazar.

To this day, this cute scientist is the most successful project of the Zagreb Cartoon School, created by Zlatko Grgić, and the cute scientist who, with the help of imagination and positive energy, solves the problems of his fellow citizens in Baltazar-grad, is named after Pavao Štalter. A team of twenty people participated in the project, among which, in addition to the aforementioned, Ante Zaninović, Boris Kolar, Milan Blažeković, Zlatko Bourek and the composer Tomica Simović stood out.

Professor Baltazar continues his story in the form of a video game. In 2021, the Zagreb studio Gamechuck received the rights to create a video game based on this cult animated series from the institution Zagreb film, and in 2022 it also secured funding for the development of a demo version of the game through co-financing from the Croatian Audiovisual Center.

A demo version of the video game is currently in development, and the development team consists of a mix of old and new artists – some of whom have worked at Zagreb Film on various animated films since the 1980s, which gives the project artistic authenticity.
The demo version will also be presented on Friday, September 2 in the premises of the Sisak Creative Industry Center at 11:30 a.m., as part of which a lecture will be held where the authors of the video game will present the production process, how to meet the challenges of recreating the style of an animated film from the 60s them into the new medium of video games, and you will also be able to see parts of the game. The lecturer is Aleksandar Gavrilović, producer on the project and director of the Gamechuck studio.
